Ornamental deciduous shrub with clusters of creamy white flowers in spring and drupes of edible 1/2 inch sized blue/black fruit in fall that attract wildlife. The glossy green leaves turn a rich burgundy in fall. Tolerant of a variety of growing conditions, Rusty Blackhaw develops the most attractive form when planted in full sun with a well drained soil. Mature sizes range from 12-20′ tall and 8-10′ spread depending on site conditions. It grows natively from Virginia to Florida and west to Texas.
